Ray Murphy talks about the effects of trauma stacking & his journey to finding healing from a life of traumatic events. From a violent childhood to numerous deaths of loved ones while base jumping, Ray found traditional therapy methods weren’t working. After the loss of a mentor, it pushed him to fly to Costa Rico and during Ayahuasca retreat he was able to breakthrough his deep seated trauma. Now Ray is advocating for this treatment for veterans and police officers with his organization, Warriors Healing Network.
On today’s episode, Dennis speaks with founder of Warriors Healing Network & HRD Police K9 training, Ray Murphy. Ray is a US Marine veteran 0331 who served with the 1st Battalion 2nd Marines STA platoon during Operation Desert Shield / Desert Storm. After the Marines, Ray attended Illinois State University, where he graduated with a BS in Criminal Justice Sciences. He is the owner and founder of Koru K9 Dog Training and HRD Police K9, serving as a trusted advisor and trainer to some of the most elite law enforcement K9 units across the country. The focus of HRD Police K9 is to create intense scenario based training to help save lives on the street. Ray has first hand knowledge with complex PTSD, and the short falls of existing treatment options especially within the VA system. He has personally attended Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Costa Rica and can speak to the use of Ayahuasca Ceremonies as an effective treatment for PTSD as well as the importance of set and setting when choosing a safe treatment option. Knowing what is expected from our men and women in the military and/or law enforcement, he felt more needs to be done to actually help them deal with the crushing symptoms of PTSD he started Warriors Healing Network to give those in need the opportunity to get back in the fight for their lives. Ray Murphy United States Marine Corps Veteran. Ray talked about his experiences and traumas from before, during, and after his military service. We talked about him being homeless, to his BASE jumping experiences, and his Warriors Healing Network. Warriors Healing Network is a registered 501c3 (nonprofit) that helps combat veterans & police officers with PTSD connect with healing psychedelic treatments.
This week we welcome Ray Murphy, founder of Warriors Healing Network.
The Warriors Healing Network was founded to help facilitate psychedelic treatments to combat veterans and police officers who have been diagnosed with PTSD, and require financial assistance to get the help they need to fight for their lives.
Ray, and his team, are here to support those members of our community who have tried to address symptoms thru various other more traditional modalities with little to no success. They have been where so many are, and understand the frustration of feeling like you have no other options.
Ray describes the healing power of Ayahuasca, and how it changed his life, when all else had failed. He talks about how plant medicine, and Ayahuasca ceremonies in particular, can be very difficult and uncomfortable. Participants will have to step out of their comfort zones and be vulnerable and willing to go “all in” to get the best results.
This means sharing traumatic events with others, sharing space with others trying to heal themselves, and holding themselves accountable to making positive changes.
Ray explains the importance of surrendering to the process, and understanding the medicine alone will not “cure” you of anything. This program is to help those who are willing to do the work to save their own lives.
So shed your preconceived notions of psychedelic medicine, and enjoy this weeks episode.

We talk about the hardships of being in military and police service, and how the traditional system is leaving people behind, which is why psychedelics are so promising as a treatment for this specific population.

Warriors Healing Network is Helping Combat Veterans and Police Officers with PTSD Get the Treatment They Deserve
Introduction of a new 501c3 Warriors Healing Network is set to help combat veterans and police officers get PTSD treatment using psychedelics.
Ravenel, SC, June 06, 2022 –(PR.com)– Warriors Healing Network Launches Website to Support Plant-Based Treatment for Veterans Diagnosed with PTSD.
Warriors Healing Network (WHN), a Charleston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, today announced the official launch of its website, www.warriorshealingnetwork.org and is currently evaluating fundraising partners and accepting donations to provide financial assistance to veterans and police officers seeking alternative treatment methods for PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome).
The first charity of its kind to provide financial assistance facilitating psychedelic treatment options for both combat veterans and police officers diagnosed with PTSD, Warriors Healing Network is partnered with the Rythmia Life Advancement Center, and the Soltara Healing Center, both medically licensed plant medicine centers with locations in Costa Rica. WHN will accept applications from combat veterans and police officers diagnosed with PTSD that have attempted to find help through traditional channels but with little to no result. Accepted applicants will embark on a week-long retreat at a WHN-preferred treatment center, with integration sessions prior to departure and upon return.
An increasing number of studies show that treating PTSD with ayahuasca or its active ingredient dimethyltryptamine (DMT) may be effective therapy when taken in a controlled environment with the proper support.
Ray Murphy, CEO & Founder of WHN suffered from complex PTSD for several years before he discovered psychedelics as a viable treatment option. “The problem with traditional PTSD treatments is they simply don’t work for people with deeply rooted trauma. I believe there is no better tool than the use of ayahuasca or DMT in a controlled environment with licensed medical professionals,” said Murphy. “Our goal is to remove the associated cost-barrier and give more PTSD sufferers access to this type of treatment.”
The website offers several ways to help, including event fundraising, sponsoring a warrior, and partnership opportunities, as well as standard donations. To learn more, visit www.warriorshealingnetwork.org.
